I had the good fortune of meeting Mr Le several years ago when I was helping Hien and Doi learn English and become U.S. citizens. My husband and I were graciously accepted into their family and culture. Mr Le generously allowed my niece to interview him for her History Day project on Ho Chi Minh which resulted in her winning the state, region, and national competitions, ultimately awarding her a full-ride scholarship to St Ambrose University. He was always quietly kind to me. Steve and I are very sorry for the Le family's loss.
