Patricia Ann Dorsey Risdal, 94, entered her heavenly home peacefully on Sunday, May 28 at Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines Iowa. Woodlands Creek Community in Clive was Patricia’s home for the past twelve years, where she made many friends. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 2, at 10:00 am at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Urbandale.  Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service.  Luncheon at the church will immediately follow the service. Interment will be held at 3:00 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is handling the arrangements. 

Patricia was born on October 25, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the daughter of George (Harold) and Mary (Kelly) Dorsey. She was baptized November 11, 1928 in Cedar Rapids and was confirmed into the Christian faith at St John Lutheran Church in Center Point in 1950. She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Urbandale. Patricia married Milford Jerome Risdal, the love of her life, on June 26, 1947 at St Stephens Lutheran Church in Atkins, IA. They lived their married life in Norway, Shellsburg, Newhall and Marion. 

Patricia was so very proud of her children, grandchildren, and adored her great-grandchildren. She was a crafty lady and enjoyed making beautiful ceramic pieces for family and friends for 10 years. She was a kind and loving day care provider for 25 years. The family loved her delicious apple pie.

Survivors include daughter Sharon (Leon) Jagim of Urbandale, Iowa, and daughter Marilyn (Dennis) Dean of Poinciana, Florida. Five grandchildren Julie (Brad) McAvoy, Michael (Tracy) Jagim, Amanda (Scott) Damstetter, Kevin (Alanna Shaikh) Dean, Jessica (Carlos) Estrada and twelve great-grandchildren Lauren Lake, Alex Jagim, Mikaela (Patrick) Cunningham, Tanner Jagim, Keegan Jagim, Catherine Damstetter, Paige Damstetter, Oliver Damstetter, Zachary Dean, Samuel Dean, Lucas Estrada, and Nicolas Estrada.

Preceding her in death were her parents George (Harold) and Mary Dorsey, and husband Milford Risdal.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gloria Dei Preschool.
