My thoughts and prayers are with the Passer family. Jerry was an agricultural reporter through and through. I had the opportunity to work with Jerry immediately upon joining the Iowa Farm Bureau team in 1994. Jerry was a true professional who took pride in his work and bringing news and information to farmers in a way that mattered. He always kept me on my toes with his direct questions and his nose for news. My thoughts and prayers with the Passer family. Jerry: job well done and roads well traveled; thank you for all you did for farmers and the agricultural profession and may you rest in peace. -- Aaron Putze, Iowa Soybean Association

Jerry was a good friend over many years as we shared church activities and some other fun times - like Murder Mystery dinner with friends at The Lion & the Lamb in Vinton and some coffee house excursions to listen to singers - He always had a story to tell, and he had a great sense of humor. We will miss all that. May the Lord comfort you, Kim and he family, in these days you grieve. Jerry is gone from this life, but we'll see him soon enough in the next.

To the Passers: Jerry took a chance on a lot of green Iowa Staters at WMT-AM, this one included in the summer of 1983. The Chuck Worcester Farm Broadcast Scholarship proved to be much coveted, and what a great opportunity it was to work with Jerry, Rich Balvanz, Nancy Koestner. I learned a lot from each and many others at that great radio station. My sincere condolences, Mike Orso

To the Passer Family: I grew up on a small farm north of Marion, Iowa, so from a young age I remember my parents listening to Jerry Passer's morning farm reports on WMT. When I got involved with FFA at Linn-Mar, our Vo-Ag instructor would have Jerry to the school to help with contests, speak at our banquet, or interview us during National FFA Week. My career has since kept me involved in agriculture, so it was great to attend the NAFB Convention in Kansas City and run into an old friend from home. Catching up with Jerry about his work--whether at WMT, KOEL, or Brownfield was always a joy for me--and a reminder of the wonderful memories around my parent's breakfast table. He touched more lives than you can begin to imagine, so I know his loss will be felt deeply by many of us who had the chance to know him. Bless you all as you mourn his loss. Sincerely, Chris Novak (now Alexandria, Virginia)
