Jim and I were in the same programming class at IRS in July 1964. He was a very nice person - and very interesting! It was always a pleasure to be around him! My prayers and deepest sympathy to the family!

I fondly remember good times with Jim, which include playing cards in our Marion home, having meals in his parents’ Martelle home, and staying with him in Martinsburg, West Virginia. He was a gracious host and a super guide for the many Civil War sites in the area and Washington, D.C. Our son, Brian Tanner, really enjoyed Jim, especially after one of our visits when he rode with him on a trip from Martinsburg to Martelle. Four-year-old Brian took Jim’s cap, filled it with animal crackers, and handed it back to him. Jim kept his eyes on the road and put his cap back on. It rained animal crackers! Thankfully, Jim had great patience and a terrific sense of humor! Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim’s relatives and friends.

We live across the street from Jim's house in Martelle since 1982. We enjoyed Stella, and then Jim for many years. Jim always had a story for us any time we seen him. We met his friends from the east coast that always came to see him and helped him with many different projects on the house. He has been missed since he moved. You have our deepest sympathy.

Jim was a man I had the pleasure of knowing. we traveled on a few motor coach tours together. At the time there were two Jim's traveling. We called them, Cedar Rapids Jim, Martelle Jim. Now both Jim's are gone. It's been a few years since I've seen Jim but I thought of him now and then. Very Sorry.

Jim and I graduated in the same class--of seven!! Of course he was at the top.
He had a great sense of humor. I always remember helping with his piano lessons when he had polio.
My thoughts and prayers are with you Margaret and your two sons.
