Virginia L. Jarnagan, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday December 12, 2013. Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church, where a visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a son, Harry W. (Anne) Jarnagan of Auburn, Washington, grandchildren; Douglas W. (Sandi) Jarnagan of Fremont, California, Michael P. Jarnagan of Tacoma, Washington and Marianne V. Jarnagan of Seattle, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harry W. Jarnagan and a son John Jarnagan.
Virginia was born December 26, 1925 in Massaponax, Virginia, the daughter of William and Lena (Stoller) Grusy. She married Harry W. Jarnagan on December 24, 1946 in Peoria, Illinois. Virginia graduated form Eureka High School, Eureka, Illinois in 1944. She started her career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She then taught at Noah’s Ark Pre School in Cedar Rapids for many years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening.
