New Report on Cremation Preferences
Posted: July 28, 2018
A recent report issued by the National Funeral Directors Association shows the continued trend of more families selecting cremation as a form of disposition in the United States. This trend is also reflected in Iowa with projections in the future of many more families embracing cremation. Cedar Memorial is committed to exceeding the needs of families in the Cedar Rapids and Marion area, and has made available many unique and different options to those that select cremation.
Visitations, Memorial Services and Gatherings
Many are not aware, but you can still have a traditional casket visitation with cremation following. This option combines the benefits of time with a loved one while honoring the choice of disposition. With unique designed caskets that offer significant savings and lower environmental impact, this option has become a common selection in the Cedar Rapids and Marion area.
With our numerous modern and comfortable facility choices, by selecting Cedar Memorial, your family has the ability to plan any gathering that they wish. From a more traditional visitation, a visitation with an urn present, or a relaxed gathering with food and beverage, the associates of Cedar Memorial are here to assist with every step of the planning process.
Unique Inurnment Options
Inunrment is the dignified and respectful act of placing a loved one’s cremated remains in a place of permanent rest. Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery offers a variety of beautiful and affordable options for the final memorialization of a life lived.
The Garden of Reflection is a beautifully designed natural environment that features over 6 different options for placement of cremated remains. The Garden of Tranquility niches provide above ground memorialization near a limestone fountain of cascading water. The Garden of Meditation is a peaceful, recessed garden reserved for cremation memorialization and features the Meditation Wall and Columbarium Bench options. And at the heart of Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery is the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum that offers indoor columbarium niches that may be made of bronze, glass, marble or a combination of both.
Cremation Signature Service Plans
Being the cremation specialists in the Cedar Rapids and Marion area has allowed for us to help understand the preferences of the families we are honored to serve. With these preferences in mind, we created our Signature Service Plans that are predefined packages of services most often selected together. These make selections easier and total costs are known immediately for ease of budgeting. Additionally, these plans are offered at a substantial savings versus selecting individual services. These plans include professional services, ceremonies, transportation and tribute services. All signature service plans can be personalized by adding options or services.
Cedar Cremation Center
Built in 2001, The Cedar Cremation Center was designed as a state-of-the-art cremation resource center. It’s natural beauty is complementary to the surrounding gardens and provides a place where families can gather in privacy and solitude.
From the time a loved one is brought into our care, our
Licensed Funeral Directors follow strict identification procedures to assure that identity is maintained throughout all of our processes. Along with this exclusive tracking process, all aspects of the cremation, including the crematory operation, are overseen by
