Genevieve was born October 22, 1924, to Everett and Nellie (Brown) McDonald in Pineville, Kentucky. After she completed her schooling, she worked various jobs around the country. She married Joseph Servey on October 4, 1945, in Knoxville, Tennessee, and together, with their family, they would travel the world following Joseph’s military career. They would settle in Cedar Rapids, Iowa after her husband had been personally recruited by Art Collins to work for him at Collins Radio. She worked for JC Penny for many years at the custom drape studio.

She loved bowling, crocheting, and helping others in their time of need. She volunteered with the Red Cross and even taught Sunday School. She would help others by making meals, baking treats, and sew whatever they needed. She loved her family, and was very proud of all her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Genevieve is survived by her children, Thomas, Diane, Patrick, Don, and Jon; siblings, Grace, Bobby, Betty, Barbara, Buddy, and Anna; she is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, sons, Joseph Jr. and Michael, and her siblings, Clayton, Howard, Rose Mary, and Julia.
