Together they had five sons--Alex, Nick, Wade, Kyle and Reid and spent their final 20 years living in Omaha, NE, where Patti raised their children and worked as a seamstress, primarily making wedding dresses and making costumes for high school and college drama departments.

In December of 2005, Patti married Dennis Ferguson in Cedar Rapids, where Patti continued sewing by creating costumes for Xavier High School Drama Department, clothes for her grandchildren, Quilts of Valor for family and friends and gifts for many, many people.

Besides her faith, family, friends and sewing, Patti enjoyed reading, cooking, hosting dinner parties, traveling, hiking in mountains, walking by oceans, and playing Scrabble and Mexican Train.
