An intimate graveside service will take place on Monday, November 2, 2026. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home prior to the service.
Alice was born on June 10, 1946, to Edward and Eleanor (McKay) Kucera. On January 19, 1975, she married Richard Ehlinger, and the couple shared many happy years together until his passing in 1989. She later enjoyed many years with her longtime companion, Lyle Waters, creating cherished memories together.
Alice was a faithful member of All Saints Catholic Church. She dedicated more than 40 years of service to United Fire Group before retiring. An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, she especially enjoyed cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes. In retirement, she continued to give back to her community by volunteering for many years at Mercy Hospital.
Above all, Alice treasured her family. She especially loved her grandchildren and took great pride in being their grandmother. Her love, kindness, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Eleanor Kucera; her husband, Richard Ehlinger; her brother, Edward Kucera; and her sister, Marcie Henneken.
Those left to cherish Alice’s memory include her son, Todd (Tracy) Kramer; her grandchildren, Zachary (Hannah) Kramer, Madison (Brandon Beltramea) Kramer, and Jackson Kramer; her great-grandchildren, Brody and Briggs Beltramea and Gabriel Kramer; her sister, Joyce Kuipers; and her longtime companion, Lyle Waters.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Alice’s name to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital Fund.
