Memorial
Pauline Mary Landenberger, 82, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 1, 2026, surrounded by her family. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Pauline was born on January 16, 1944, in Kankakee, Illinois, and grew up in the historic village of Riverside, Illinois. Some of her fondest childhood memories were the many trips she took with her parents into Chicago. She especially loved shopping at Marshall Fields.
She attended Upper Iowa University, where she met the love of her life, Richard Landenberger. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared 61 years of marriage, making their home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Their years together were filled with love, family, friendship, and countless treasured memories.
Pauline found great joy in her work as the Bridal Registrar at Younkers, where she loved helping brides and their families prepare for one of life's most special occasions. Her warm spirit and caring nature made those experiences even more meaningful.
Outside of work, Pauline enjoyed many things that brought beauty and happiness to her life. She loved sitting down and getting lost with a good book. She enjoyed card making and paper crafting, growing flowers, and gathering with friends. She especially treasured her trips to Key West, Florida, where she could relax and enjoy the sunshine and beauty of the island.
Above all, Pauline's greatest joy was her family. She absolutely adored her grandson Charlie, and had a special place in her heart for her beloved grand dogs, Roger and Hunter. The love she gave so freely, her thoughtfulness, and her devotion to those closest to her were at the heart of who she was. She had a way of making the people in her life feel loved and special, and those memories will be cherished forever.
Pauline is survived by her loving husband Richard Landenberger, daughter Christine Dougherty, son-in-law Phillip Dougherty, grandson Charles Dougherty, son John Landenberger, daughter-in-law Hawley Landenberger, and grand dogs Roger and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her sister Alice Neuschwanger.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the exceptional care team at PCI Hematology and Oncology for the kindness, compassion, and loving support they provided to Pauline and her family.
