Memorial

Rickey R. Hughes passed away on May 12, 2026, in Walford. Services and Interment were held privately.

He was born September 14, 1957, in Spencer, Iowa to Royce and Beverly (Meier) Hughes, of Spirit Lake Iowa. Rick graduated from Spirit Lake High School, and attained a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from UNI.
  
After graduating from UNI he began his career at IMT insurance. Rick started as a claims adjuster, eventually switching to the Marketing Department. Until his retirement he was the Senior Territory Manager for Eastern Iowa. 

Rick was an avid outdoorsman, spending his free time hunting and fishing in Spirit Lake, with family and friends.

Rickey is survived by his wife, of 39 years, Pamella Hughes; Son, Colin Hughes; siblings Konnie Mitchell, DeAnna Copeland, Randy Hughes; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Royce and Beverly Hughes.
