Memorial

Harold Arthur Heth, 82, passed away June 7, 2026. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow the service and take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Harold was born on September 15, 1943, in Oelwein, Iowa to Esra and Eula (Kraft) Heth. After early childhood in Aurora, Iowa, his family moved to a farm near Hawkeye, Iowa. Harold was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Fayette, Iowa and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawkeye, Iowa. He graduated from North High School in West Union, Iowa in 1961.

On November 28, 1964, he married Marilyn Rogness. From this union three children were born, Shelly, Lynn, and Josh. Harold and Marilyn lived in West Union, Iowa for a short time before moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1967. Harold worked for UPS for 47 years and 30 years at Seeger’s Truck and Trailer Repair. His lifelong love of being a mechanic lasted until 2017 when he retired at 74 years. 

Harold was a devoted husband and father. He spent much of his free time doing home improvement projects, working on cars, helping the neighbors, and traveling with his wife Marilyn whenever they could. They traveled to Alaska, Hawai’i, Las Vegas, and many Caribbean cruises. Harold was always up for an adventure with Marilyn and his family. 

Harold enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His favorite roles were Dad and Papa. He participated fully in their activities, sports, dance recitals, plays, and lives of his grandchildren. For the past three years his dog Lola has been his constant companion, pride, and joy.

Harold will be greatly missed by his surviving family, including his children, Shelly (Joe Cecchin) Heth, Lynn Heth, and Josh (Brenda) Heth; grandchildren, Tanner Bemer (Amanda Hays) and Jacob and Anna Heth; great grandchildren, Arabella Bemer and Addalynn Johnson; sister, Helen Westphal in addition to brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, many cousins, close friends and neighbors, including Bob and Pam Miller and Jim and Dianna Welsch.
