Ronald Delbert Kruse, 81, of Marion, Iowa passed away peacefully Monday, July 27, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center. A private graveside service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Central City American Legion WAPSI Post 421, located at 6 Central City Rd. Central City, Iowa. 

Ronald was born June 19, 1945, to Verle and Imogene (Usher) Kruse in Central City, Iowa. He graduated from Central City High School and later graduated from Mt. Mercy University. Ronald proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Karen Davis on December 29, 1977. He worked for P&H, Goss, Duggan Trucking, and retired from Gilcrest Jewett Lumber. Ronald was a member of the Central City American Legion WAPSI Post 421.
 
He enjoyed fishing, playing golf, traveling, learning about history, and was an avid auto racing enthusiast. Ronald loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. 

Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Karen Kruse; children, Cynthia (Lance) Blackwood, sister, Verlene (Donny)Montgomery Hawker; brother-in-law, Don Beebe; stepchildren, Lisa (Dave) Essy, and Jeffrey (Carmella) Davis; grandchildren, Carissa, Kelsey, and Kyle Blackwood, Jess (Ian) Walters, Cassandra (William) Spinks, and Danielle (Danny) Harper; and three great grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Daisy.
