Kent Brian Wiedenmann, born on October 24, 1956. The beloved youngest son of Jean Lenore Wiedenmann (Kolsrud) and Charles Luther Wiedenmann grew up in the small town of Monona, Iowa. 

A proud graduate of M-F-L High School, Class of 1974, where he served as the captain of senior football team. After high school, Kent made the move to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he continued to pursue his passion for strength sports, competing and excelling in Olympic lifting.  

Kent worked at Farmstead and later at General Mills, where he retired after many years of dedicated service. A hard worker and a steadfast provider, Kent was known for his quiet strength, his stubbornness, though above all, Kent will be remembered for his unwavering determination, and the love he had for his family.  

A lifelong lover of history, Kent had a deep fascination with war history, especially in the World Wars, the American Revolutionary War, and the Civil War. 

Kent is survived by his sons, Forrest Wiedenmann and Colton Wiedenmann; his daughter, Kalysta Wiedenmann; and his beloved granddaughter, Chimera Zook, who loving referred to him as "Papa Kent". He is also survived by his brother, Garry Wiedenmann; his sister, Lori Spratt; and many extended family members and friends who will remember him with love and gratitude. 

Kent passed away peacefully on Monday July 6th and will be deeply missed and always remembered. 

For those who would like to attend, A small Graveside service will take place at 9:00 AM Friday July 31st at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, 520 1st St E, Mount Vernon.
