Memorial

Paul N. Talsma, resident of Guttenberg, IA passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026.  He entered this world on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1941, surrounded by love with little to no fanfare. He chose to depart this world in the same manner. 

Paul held a deep love of nature, sailing, music and family. Adventurous at heart, he spent his early years in the Army exploring Alaska and continued to travel extensively throughout his life. He is now on his final journey. 

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joni; his daughter, April, and son-in-law, Michael; his sisters, Faye and Anna, and their families; his sisters-in-law, Michele, and Sandy and her husband Mike; and his brother-in-law, Ron, and their families.
 
Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 203 Pearl St., Guttenberg, IA, on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am, with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lutheran World Relief in Paul’s name.
