Dear Family: Ben, Liz, Amy, and All, We are sorry for the loss of your precious mother and beloved family member. Charlotte was special to all of us who knew her. We have many memories we cherish of your family. We hope your good memories will help sustain you during this time of loss and become a treasure to hold close to your hearts in the future. We hold you in our prayers and send our love. Bill, Marcie, and family

Charlotte was an amazing woman and an excellent physician, with such a kind heart. I had the privilege of knowing Charlotte and working with her at the medical board. I am saddened by her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

To Dr Cleavanger’s beloved children and grandchildren- I had the joy of working with her at ISU as RN, she was one of the best, always seeing the extra sick student who walked in at the end of the day, educating and caring with her whole heart, laughing with all of us at the end of a rough day. I am so sorry for your loss, take time to grieve as her love for you was large. Thyra Cox

Ben, Liz, and Amy I am so sorry to hear about your Charlotte's passing. She was such a lovely woman. Rob and I always enjoyed visiting with her when she stopped by. She was so proud of all of you. Will be keeping you all in my thoughts.

Dr Liz Gauger, again allow me to express my sincerest condolences on the loss of your dear mother. While the grief may be overwhelming at times, it will be eclipsed by profound joy of cherished memories of a life well lived. Your mother sounds like she was a remarkable woman. While I did not know her, I do know this: she raised an amazing daughter and physician and must have been extraordinarily proud. The apple did not fall far from the tree. You and your family will remain in my prayers. Wishing you peace and comfort, Carl.

I also had the privilege of working with Dr. Cleavenger at ISU. I will never forget the day we were on lunch break at HyVee and she got the call about her husband’s passing, the first thing I thought when I heard of her passing was how she would be reunited with the Love of her Life. Her office was filled with family photos, she was always telling us stories & proud of the accomplishments of her children. One that I remember is about a deer on your dining room table, she was at first irritated & then couldn’t stop laughing! I am so sorry for your families loss. I hope you find comfort in knowing that she was a wonderful provider for ISU students, but her greatest accomplishment was always her children. And I imagine her Grandchildren were the light of her life post retirement as well.
