Memorial

Richard Cihla, 62, passed away peacefully, February 22, 2026, of Glioblastoma. A Celebration of Life will be held later. 

Richard was born on February 16, 1964, in Cedar Rapids to Kenneth and Joan Cihla. He worked at ACP, Riverside Casino Poker Room, Tama Casino Slot Department, and Amana Refrigeration. He enjoyed playing cards with Lesters Crew and Casinos, time with his family and friends, watching sports and bowling. 

Richard is survived by his wife, Kristine; sons, Kalab (Natalie) McVay, Kevin Cihla, and Ryne Cihla; grandkids, Lillian, Kroy, and Charlotte McVay; siblings, Gary (Mary) Cihla and Connie (Mark Boyd) Johnson and mother-in-law, Beverly McVay. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie Cihla; nephew, Bo Johnson, and father-in-law, Edwin McVay.
