He worked as a mechanic, management in the hardware business & retail auto parts and most recently at Legacy Manufacturing in Marion as a product specialist.

Kent’s father introduced him at a young age, probably three or four, to the fascinating world of automobiles. After church on Sunday mornings, they could be found driving through new and used car lots to see what was available. Race cars became an early obsession, and Kent could be found at many local dirt tracks enjoying the racing world, helping in the pits with cars #9 (Bobby Hansen) & 61(Lloyd Bacon). This created many lifelong friendships. He also enjoyed watching Nascar and Dirt Late Mondel races on TV along with his favorite college football team, the Nebraska Huskers.

He loved to camp and travel with Kim and friends. A special place to visit was the state of Arizona where he thought one day he may retire.
