Elmer L. Boie, 96, of Hiawatha, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026, at the Hiawatha Care Center. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Elmer was born on June 27, 1929, in Beebe, South Dakota, the son of Louis and Elsie (Benter) Boie. He was united in marriage to Aletha Schrage on May 24, 1953. Elmer found great enjoyment in hunting, photography, and tending to his flowerbeds. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his son, David (Jackie) of Omaha, Nebraska, and his daughter, Linda Boie of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Nikki and Josh; three great-grandchildren, Madie, Jack, and Ellie; and two brothers, Glen (Sally) Boie and Charles (Opal) Boie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Evelyn Schroeder DeVries; his brother, Donal Boie; and his wife, Aletha.
