Carolyn “Carie” Jeanne Sills passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 19th, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Tommy’s Restaurant, located at 393 Edgewood Rd. NW Cedar Rapids, IA.

Carie was born on April 15th, 1965, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Richard and Diana Sills. She retired from the City of Cedar Rapids Transportation in 2015. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids who “were her world.” She loved birds, especially hummingbirds, she also enjoyed wearing sunhats, gardening, and making holiday goodies. She was very strong in her faith and her relationship with God. Carie prioritized family over everything. 

She is survived by her “Daddy-O,” Richard (Donna) Sills; siblings, Shelley (Jim) Brown, Leann (Tom) Eaton, and Greg Sills; children, Jeannette (Keely) Ralston, Travis (Alleeza) Sills, and Samantha (Johnny) Navarro; 14 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. 

Carie is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Sebesta, her mother, and her aunt, Marsha Baker.
