Memorial

Barbara “Bonnie” Ann Fitzpatrick passed away on September 29, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will take place at 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, with burial immediately following at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery with full military honors.  

Barbara is survived by her husband of 53 years, Michael and her son, William of Stafford, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Barbara was born October 21, 1943, to William and Marie Meiswinkel in Havertown, PA. She graduated from the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. She started working at St. Francis, then St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Washington, DC before joining the Air Force for over 4 years on November 12, 1967. She was stationed in Japan, where she became fluent in Japanese before transferring to U-Tapao Thailand where she met her husband, Michael. Barbara married Michael on February 12, 1972, in Las Vegas, NV. Barbara was passionate about her nursing career working in the operating room at St. Lukes in Cedar Rapids, IA and the Veterans Administration in Iowa City, Iowa for over 36 years. There was nothing more important to her than her family and nursing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Iowa Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
