Susan Lea Clark, 68, of Mount Vernon, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 19, 2025.

Susan is lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Christopher, and their children: Jonathan (with wife Lindsey) of Bondurant, Adam of Ankeny, and Peter (with wife Megan) of Marion. She was a proud grandmother to Chloe, Joseph, Rowan, and Abel. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Jeanette Borgstrom of Clinton, as well as her cherished niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Victor Borgstrom, and siblings Vicki Eisinger, Sheila Dodd, and Eric Borgstrom.

Born on December 16, 1956, in Clinton, Iowa, Susan graduated from Clinton High School in 1975 and earned her nursing degree from Clinton Community College in 1977. She began her nursing career in Dubuque at Mercy Hospital and later transitioned to Medical Associates.  In 2003, Susan and Chris relocated to Cedar Rapids where she continued her career at Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa, retiring in 2017.

Susan’s life was defined by compassion, dedication, generosity, and love. She found joy in spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, attending concerts, participating in church and Bible study, and living her faith through service and connection.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with Rev. Steve Knudson of First Lutheran Church officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., prior to the service. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the family where they will be used to support Parkinson’s research.
