Bill, or as some like to call him Wild Bill from Toddville, was born on September 3, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Lyle and Marie (Blanchard) Flannagan. Bill owned and operated Flannagan Siding and Home Improvement in Cedar Rapids until he retired. In 1988 Bill built his first IMCA Modified. The rest was history from countless wins to passing down his racing knowledge to his family and many other racers throughout the years. Bill loved going to the races with his family and getting to spend time with his racing family.
He was a great father and an even better Papa to his grandchildren. He never turned down an opportunity to support his grandkids. From sports to concerts, he did it all. In his last few years, he loved spending time with all of them in the shop, whether it be working on the race car or playing with all the tools, everyone loved spending time with him there.
Bill is survived by his children, Patrick (Brooke) Flannagan and Jennifer (Kip) Cox; his grandchildren Harper and Beckett Flannagan and Blaine and Anthony Cox.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sheila (Hanken) Flannagan; and his parents.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family to be distributed to the grandkids.
