Ed graduated from Central High in Pueblo, Colorado and obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colorado A & M (now Colorado State University).  Ed, who achieved Eagle Scout, was one of two scouts chosen to represent the Boy Scouts of America to tour Sweden. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959.

Ed worked many jobs, but the one he was best known for was being a hunting guide.  Ed and business partners Tony and Dave formed Toneda Outfitters.  Ed guided hunters on horseback into the mountains of Colorado to hunt big game.  On September 23,1979, during one such trip, Ed encountered a female Grizzly bear; thought to be extinct.  After being attacked and mauled by the Grizzly, Ed managed to grab one of the arrows that fell from his quiver at the onset of the attack, killing her with a handheld arrow.  After a lengthy hospital stay and a six-month investigation, it was determined Ed acted in self-defense.  The remains of the Grizzly and a bronze statue of the attack were on display in the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  Within a year of Ed’s attack, he returned to the mountains to continue the job he loved.  Toneda Outfitters operated for over 40 years taking numerous hunters, many becoming lifelong friends, into his beloved San Juan Mountains.  During his time in the mountains, he also worked for the US Forest Service stocking mountain lakes with trout and using mules to haul materials and equipment into the mountains to rebuild bridges.

Ed is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Marjorie (Frank) Carlson; stepsons, Rob (Kariann) Fiser, Rod (Lorene) Fiser; grandchildren, David Kintz, Patrick (Genevieve) Carlson, Brandon Carlson, step-grandchildren, Ashton Fiser, Zackary Fiser, Amber Fiser and Justin Fiser; four great grandchildren (Logan Gilmore, Helton Kintz, Lacey Kintz and Jacque Kintz), sister, Edna Maury and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Sherman J. and Virgina Wiseman; son, Paul Wiseman; daughter, Kathryn Wiseman; brothers, Robert Wiseman and Sherman W. Wiseman.

Ed loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
