I am so sorry for your loss. Gary and I were instantly friends when we met. Cheryl is just like my wife when she tried to keep Gary under control. I always looked forward to my visits because we shared stories and the laughs that followed. I only wish that I could have shared more time with Cheryl and Gary. My father was so special to me in every way imaginable. He spent every day with me no matter what and would do so much together growing up. A lot of fights but more love and supportiveness than anything else. I wished for no other father a child would ever want out of what my father did for me. He was very special to me and will always love him and remember the time we had together flew including with my mother. My father did things or allowed me to do which really shaped the way I became. I am so sorry for your loss! I don’t remember a lot about Gary, but I got to see him at Mary’s funeral in Dubuque in July of 2024. I believe he is at peace with the Lord now.
