May Peace be in the hearts of all who called him friend. Definitely a good guy. I enjoyed playing softball with him and talking wrestling.

I am in shock finding out about Henry's passing. Henry and I were wrestling partners at Coe College for three seasons as we prepared for upcoming tournaments for those who were out of college. He lived just a few blocks from me, so we saw each other often. We were both veterans, and over all the years I knew Henry, he never mentioned receiving a Purple Heart. I miss Henry. My heartfelt sympathy to Henry's sons, sister, and the entire family. Peace be with you all.

God bless Henry and his family. I first met Henry while he was a "wrestling dad" at CR Jefferson. Shortly after that he joined our wrestling staff and we had a very successful run. Yes, we were pretty good in wrestling, but the real "win" was the incredible amount of fun we had, and Hank Orton provided a huge portion of that.
Later, I actually lived in Henry's basement for three years during a tough stretch. For three summers my daughters also lived at 4341 Beecher Court and to this day remember all of the fun they had with Henry in the swimming pool he had off of his deck. Henry was a "tough" dude, but he also had a tremendously large heart. Rest in peace my friend...you were a gem.

Henry and I served many years together at the CR Post Office. He also was an injured soldier in Vietnam and a Purple Heart veteran as I was. Super nice guy and I always thought of him as CR Tom Selleck "Magnum PI and Blue Bloods" actor. May he rest in eternal peace and until we meet again. Paul L Pickart

Our paths crossed at the Post Office a few times. Indeed as others have indicated, Henry was one of the really good guys. It's been 40 years since I left Cedar Rapids but the memories are still strong of what it was like at the old Cedar Rapids Post Office where each day you were alongside your friends in the workplace.
