Patricia Ann Werning, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully surrounded by her family on her birthday, Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Patricia was born July 2, 1934, to Harry and Helen (Jubb) Tate in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Merlin Werning on November 7, 1954, in Newhall, Iowa. Patricia worked for many years for General Mills as a forklift operator. 

She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, going on vacations with her family, and the years she raised her family on the farm. 

Patricia is survived by her children, David (Ginny) Werning, Sharon (Kevin) Doyle, Darwin Werning; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren; siblings, Mary Crowther, Nadine Thompson, and Harry Tate Jr; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Merlin Werning, and her daughter Kathryn Werning.
