Memorial

Dorothy Mae Nelson, 100, of Marion, Iowa passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at Thomas Grove. A private service will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Dorothy was born April 4 ,1925, to Amos and Esther (Halsell) Howard in Annville, Pennsylvania. She married the love of her life, Stanley Nelson, on February 28, 1952, in Loveland, Colorado. Together they had seven children. 

Dorothy is survived by her children, Thomas (Barbara) Nelson, Gary (Sarah) Nelson, Mary Nelson, Jeff (Cathy) Nelson, Stacey Nelson, and Jamie (Jennifer) Nelson; five grandchildren, Lori and Tim Nelson, Gabriel Nelson, and Jack and Alexa Nelson; and her sister Janice Bucher. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, her son Timothy Nelson, her parents, and her sister Helen Ford.
