Elayne Gassett

Born in Centralia, IL
Born on Jun 2, 1943
Departed on Sep 30, 2024

I met Elayne when she was competing in ballroom dancing. What a wonderful person she was. She will be missed.

Rest in Peace my friend. We have the watch going forward.

May you be at peace and rest now, your earthly service is finished. Elayne and I have been involved with Quilts of Valor for many years. Veterans were so near and dear to her heart.

Rest in Peace my dear friend, you are missed already. You served so many with unfailing energy & love, but most of all you were such a good friend to me, thank you lady.

To the Gasset family, I am very sorry for the loss of Elayne, your mother, grandmother ect. I met her when she first moved into Summit Pointe Senior Living. I agreed to be her "band director" with the Bell choir. Throughout my time as an activity's assistant at Summit, Elayne was without a doubt the most patriotic person I've ever met. Her love for America, for our veterans, for friends and family is unmatched. I visited the Iowa State Fair back in August and saw an American flag made out of little army men. I thought of Elayne and how much this piece of art would mean to her. She was a woman of great respect and many respected her. Her art skills were also a hit and presented many of the Summit Pointe ladies a way to express themselves easily. She will be badly missed.
