I met Jane through her partner Susan, and the three of us became fast friends and also neighbors. Jane was like no one else I ever met. She was a quiet, reserved person but hilariously witty and funny. She had to have had the best comic timing in the history of the universe. She had the unique ability to make people feel safe and cared for with just a few perfect words, which were always the right ones. She was always focused on the other person and asked such interesting questions: what was your favorite gift? What's the most fun you've had this summer? I couldn't come up with an answer to the first one, but the answer to the second was: hanging out with you. Jane's passing leaves a huge hole in the universe. I'm one of the many who will miss her in my heart and soul. To me, the best way to remember her is to celebrate her life.
