Jane V. Arenson (née Cote), aged 75, passed away from a long illness on June 22, 2024 in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was born on 7 February 1949 in Auburn, Maine. Jane lived a vibrant and fulfilling life marked by her adventurous and inquisitive spirit. The primary focus of Jane’s life was her beloved family. Jane and her devoted husband Jim had a special loving relationship and they were inseparable partners and best friends for 57 years.
She visited each of her three daughters often—and if she could not be with them in person, she talked by phone daily. If you were a friend of Jane’s, you knew it because she loved you and you knew it.
Jane was a beacon of energy and joy, always seen with a smile that lit up the room. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a fabulous cook. An avid traveler, she loved exploring new destinations, indulging in her passion for reading and puzzles, engaging in competitive games of tennis, cards and Scrabble. Jane took pleasure in quilting, a hobby that not only showcased her artistic talents but brought warmth and beauty into the lives of those she loved. She loved her life.
Jane was member of Temple Judah and Agudas Achim synagogues, Jane's Jewish faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing strength and community throughout her years.
Her zest for life extended to animals, especially dogs. She cherished her time spent boating, fishing, and exploring the waterways. She often retreated to Florida to enjoy time by the water with Jim, her children and grandchildren. Jane's legacy is carried on by her devoted husband Jim Arenson, her daughters and she loved her mother Cecile Forgues and her brother Mickey Cote and his wife Tracy, her sister Elaine Fournier and her husband Leroy, and her older sister Chris Dupuis and husband Bob.
Jane is survived by her beloved daughters, Michelle Arenson and her husband Mike Robertson, Deborah Arenson and her husband Michael Beecher, and Amy Arenson and her husband Dustin Pie. Jane adored each of her seven grandchildren: Michael, Harper, Arlo, Madyson Jane, Cameron, Skylar, and Bellamy.
There is no visitation. Services will be held at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, Florida at 10:00 a.m. on Friday June 28, 2024. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
