Memorial

Sandra Mae Trimble, 84, passed away November 13, 2023, at Heritage Specialty Care, Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 20 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A livestream of the memorial service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Sandra Trimble, under the video tab starting at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 20. Inurnment of Sandy and Gordon’s cremains will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Sandy is survived by her children, David Trimble, Julie (Randy) Wright, and John (Amy) Trimble; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Sharon (Roger) Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings; Betty Moel, Ronald Umsted; and grandson, Justin.  

Sandy was born December 5, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Walter and Ruth Umsted. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and married Gordon L. Trimble on October 21, 1960, in Cedar Rapids. She spent her career in retail and secretarial positions. Sandy enjoyed out-fishing her husband, crafting, gardening, and spending time with family. She loved going for drives.
