David William Gerber, age 89 of Marion, IA died March 8, 2023, at Hiawatha Care Center.  

David was born on August 25, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the son of Clarence and Ella (Krahling) Gerber.  He married Joan Beretta on September 19, 1953.  He served with the US Army in Korea from 1953-1955.  David was employed by Iowa Electric Light and Power for 35 years, retiring in 1992.  David was a member at 1st Presbyterian Church in Marion.  He enjoyed antique cars and tractors.  

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Joan, a son Gary (Lyn) Gerber of Timbo, Arkansas, daughter Connie (Kent) Shellady of Missouri.  Three grandsons, Daniel Gerber, Logan Gerber and Colby Gerber, and seven great grandchildren.
