Beulah May Flatjord, 90, of Hiawatha passed away March 22, 2023 due to complications of Alzheimer’s. Visitation: 4-7 PM, Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and from 9-10 AM Monday, March 27, 2023, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service 10:30 AM, Monday, March 27, 2023, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Beulah was born on January 11, 1933, in Clayton County, Iowa, the daughter of Ervin A. and Gladys M. (Funk) Morarend. She grew up in Colesburg, graduating from Colesburg High School. Beulah was united in marriage to Harold O. Flatjord on November 16, 1957, in Guttenberg, Iowa. Beulah had worked for the Penny Saver as an Inserter. She was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She loved going to the activities that her children and grandchildren took part in growing up. Beulah enjoyed playing cards and had played in card clubs dating back to the 1960’s. She liked traveling, especially to Las Vegas.  Beulah was a devoted fan of Iowa Hawkeye Basketball. She also enjoyed butterflies, flowers, bowling, ice cream, and watching figure skating. As an adopted Norwegian, she also liked making Lefse. 

Survivors include her children Sue (Gary) Hennick of Cedar Rapids, Eric (Kristi Maiers) Flatjord of Cedar Rapids, David (Allison) Flatjord of Fort Wayne, IN, and Marcia (Mike) Skow of Hiawatha, grandchildren Jeremiah (Karen) Flatjord, Matt (Ali) Flatjord, Amanda Lopez, Tim (Cam) Hennick, Brock (Hannah) Skow, Hannah (Brandon) Jaquis, Josh (Karen) Merta, Travis (Amanda) Merta, Annika Flatjord, and Caitlin Flatjord, thirteen great grandchildren, sister Pauline Hansel of Strawberry Point, sisters-in-law Emma Jean Flatjord of Cresco, and Bernis Geving of McGregor, MN, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Harold, son James, brother Robert Morarend, brothers-in-law Clarence Hansel, Raymond Flatjord, and Kenny Geving, and brother and sister-in-law Neal and Lorraine Flatjord.
