LeAndra Strope, 66, passed away suddenly on January 31, 2023. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2023, at Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom.  There will be a private family interment.

LeAndra is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Mikey (Rachel) Strope, Steven (Kelsey) Strope, Kaitie (James) Cortez, and Matthew (Brittany) Strope; grandchildren, Cade, Deacon, Ella, Cooper, Braya, Ryker, Ridge, Maverick, Cash and Cruz; siblings, Barbara (Norman) Seeley, Robert (Renee) Borkgren; mother-in-law, Patricia Strope, many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Dorothea Borkgren; siblings, Shirley Holtke, Ronald Borkgren and Bill Borkgren.

LeAndra loved her family.  Her ten grandchildren meant the world to her; she existed for them.  Her love can’t be described in words but was easy to see.  She would do anything for her grandkids, and she never missed any of their ballgames or concerts.  She always said yes to “Grandma can you watch the kids?” and loved every single second she was with her grandbabies.

Christmas was LeAndra’s passion.  She had a living Christmas list for everyone that she added to all year long.  Christmas shopping was her sport, and she spoiled, oh so spoiled, her family with presents and love.  LeAndra went to incredible lengths to ensure everyone felt special at Christmas.

LeAndra loved going places, but she hated to fly.  She enjoyed seeing what was outside of Iowa and would frequently go on road trips.  She enjoyed playing games in the car with her grandkids when she traveled with them.  She also loved playing board games with a fun competitive spirit.  She was fun and liked to have fun, her smile and laugh were contagious.  Watching LeAndra laugh with her family was like watching pure joy.

LeAndra was the perfect mom.  She talked to her kids constantly and would drop everything to FaceTime.  She would make her babies their favorite meals anytime they asked, and always made them feel special on their birthdays.  Her kids always requested family events be at her house because they loved coming back to Mom and how she made them feel.  The family she created is very close, seeing each other almost every weekend at times.  Her family genuinely loves each other, want to be together,  and talk to each other – a testament to LeAndra.

Mike and LeAndra would have been married 44 years this August.  LeAndra was Mike’s rock.  She took care of him.  She took care of everyone.  She’s the best Wife, Mom, and Grandma god could have created. Her family is so lucky for the time we had and will miss her more than can be put into words.
