Geraldine was born on June 25, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Rivers and Mildred “Mickey” McNeill. She attended Roosevelt High School and graduated from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids. She married James Harger who died in an accident during duty with the National Guard. She then married Arland Miller on October 25, 1955. Jeri was a marvelous and successful woman whose legacy will continue without her through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Jeri was a drum major in the drum and bugle corps in Cedar Rapids as a young girl. Traveling across the country with them. One of her favorite trips was the one to San Francisco, CA. Later, as a young adult she modeled for Armstrong’s Department Store in Cedar Rapids.

Jeri was a talented artist, a skill she passed down to her children. This was evident in all the Horse Show and Rodeo clothes she made for her children to compete in through the years. She especially enjoyed designing and making crafts to sell at craft shows across Iowa in her later years.

Perhaps Jeri’s greatest joy was traveling to Iowa Stock Horse Shows, Quarter Horse Shows and Rodeos across the country to watch and support her children. Often driving her children in a motor home and trailer longer than most semis by herself to get them there. As many have said since her passing “she was one of the great horse show moms.” Always behind the scenes. Not only helping her children but supporting others as well.

Jeri was deeply loved by her entire family, and she loved and cherished every moment with them. Every meal at Grandma’s house and especially Christmas was a time for all her family to reconnect and catch up. It was especially memorable for the fact that we always managed to get too many people in one room, which only made her family closer.

Jeri will be remembered by everyone she met as one of the most supportive, loving mothers who ever took her kids to a horse show.

Survivors include her husband Arland, sons Craig Miller, Scot (Sabrina) Miller, and Todd Miller, daughters Kristin Ludvicek, and Kelly (Mike) Schleicher, grandsons Cody Miller, Trevor Miller, Thad (Lindsay) Miller, Cole (Taylor) Miller, and Rivers Ludvicek, granddaughters Ashton Schleicher, Allison (Coty) Doby, and Stephanie Miller, great grandchildren Logan, Jaylea, Kinnick, Wyatt, Michael, Reid, Mason, and Callie.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her first husband Jim, and her brother Bill.
