George Joseph Powers Sr. 83, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died November 5, 2022. George was one of 5 children and leaves behind his brother Joseph Powers (Janet) Fairfax Iowa.

George is survived by his six children: Bridget White (Rick), Cedar Rapids, Kate O’Reilly (Bill) Davenport Fl, Amy Powers Marion, Trill Rettig (Gary) Marion, George Powers Jr. (Melissa) Chicago, IL and Matthew Powers (Darci) Denver, Colorado. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one on the way.

George was a successful businessman, as well as an avid golfer with his favorite course being Hunters Ridge in Marion.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday November 10, 2022, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 2310 First Ave NE Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM followed by a Catholic Mass at 10:30 AM.
