Patricia Anne Cannon (Turkington), 71 of Marion, IA passed away Thursday, June 9th, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center.

Pat was born February 12th, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Carlton and Marion (Stuefen) Turkington Jr. She graduated in 1969 from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. 

Pat was a loving wife of almost 48 years to her husband James (Jim) Cannon whom she married July 13th, 1974 in Palo, Iowa. Pat was also an amazing and loving mother to her daughter Diana (Lon) Schaeffer, and sons David Cannon of Cedar Rapids, IA and William (Amber) Cannon of Cedar Rapids, IA, Jim Cannon (Brenda Hagen) of Oxford Junction, IA and Danny Cannon of Center Point, IA. Her mother Marion Turkington of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sisters Kathy Bell of Center Point, IA, Terry (Gary) Gerleman of Cedar Rapids, IA and brother Dennis (Lisa) Turkington of Cedar Rapids, IA. Grandchildren Jess (Colin) Peters of Cedar Rapids, IA, Lance Schaeffer of Davenport, IA (Amber Schaeffer) of Cedar Rapids, IA, Amber Teubert of Boscobel, WI, Jimmy Cannon, Kristy Cannon, Brandon Cannon all of Waterloo, IA, Tisha Cannon of Denton, TX, Ashley Cannon, DJ Cannon, Zach Cannon, Alison Cannon, Joshua Cannon and Lawson Cannon all of Cedar Rapids, IA, 24 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and many more who she was always mom to. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. 
She was preceded in death by her father Carlton Turkington Jr. and granddaughter Alisha.

Pat had a huge heart and would always do anything she could for everyone. She loved her family and getting together for potlucks and holidays. She loved her Christmas music and all of the beautiful lights and decorations. She always enjoyed getting roses and getting lilacs off her daughter’s lilac bush. No matter where she went Pat would always make friends. She helped run the food bank at her apartment complex, she served meals to the elderly at HACAP in Center Point, IA and then served meals to children at a HACAP daycare in Cedar Rapids. Pat worked at Hawkeye Downs working the bingo concessions and the PIT concessions during the races.

Pat will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

We will be having a celebration of life/ potluck on Sunday, July 10th, 2022 from 11-3 at the Hiawatha Community Center at 101 Emmons St. Hiawatha, IA.
