Memorial

Cheryl Darlene Logsdon, 63, most recently of Marion, IA (born and raised in Kentucky before her family moved to the Quad Cities), passed away at 7:45am at the University of Iowa’s Palliative Care Unit from natural causes after a sudden illness.
 
Cheryl was born on October 26, 1958, in Glasgow, KY the daughter of Lonard and Wanda (Francisco) Logsdon and was raised in Park City, KY.  Her family moved to the Quad Cities area in the mid-1960s. She moved to Florida more than 20 years ago and had been employed in the service industry for many years as a housekeeper with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. 
 
While living and working in Florida, she met her soulmate Joe Griffis (he passed away in December of 2019 after a sudden illness).  Cheryl had an affection for animals, enjoyed cooking as a hobby, watching vintage Western TV shows and movies, and spending time with her family and friends. 
 
After her fiancé passed away, she lived with one of her sisters and her boyfriend in the Daytona Beach area, before relocating herself and her two beloved pets (Quincy and Brandi) to Marion, IA, to live with her other sister and her husband for the past couple of years.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Lori A. Logsdon-Chesser, her fiancé Joe Griffis, and other extended family and friends. She is survived by her sisters Julie (Steve) and Donna (Eric), along with nieces, nephews, and friends of the family (John Bucksbaum and Tammy Childs).
