Emmett Vaughn

Departed on Jul 27, 2022

Memorial

Emmett Vaughn, 48, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday July 27, 2022.

He had many passions and talents. He could make anything out of nothing…from a kitchen stove into a powdercoat oven; from a bicycle into a motorcycle; from a pile of auto parts into a custom made vehicle. If he could imagine it, he could create it.

He loved to spend time with family and friends on numerous adventures and making memories. He loved power sports… motorcycles, snowmobiles, side by sides, jet skis, boating… if it had a motor or wheels, he was all for it. They took many fishing/boating trips, trips up to the cabin to snowmobile or hit the trails with the 4 wheelers.

His biggest thrill was when all his kids were together and smiling. That is what drove him and why he worked so hard… to create a better life for his family. He supported their choices and their dreams. They could come to him with anything, and he made time to sit, listen, comfort and counsel… he was the heartbeat of the family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Girdie, and his son Keyshawn. He is survived by his children, Demante, Isis, Devante, Elysia, Kiyah, Makia, Emmaleah, Aliyah, Kyrra, and Mya. He also leaves behind his father, Emmett, his sister Tracy (Herb) Kirkland, his brothers Eilee ( Sheri) White, George (Kristina) White and his longtime girlfriend Tiona, his siblings, Emmett Ray Vaughn, Nellie Jean Vaughn, Katie Vaughn, Doris Vaughn, Richard Vaughn, Jason Vaughn, Abraham Austin.  He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, and other friends and family.

There will be a Celebration of Life at The Classic Event Center at 3607 1st Ave SE Ste A Cedar Rapids from 4-7pm on Wednesday August 3, 2022. There is a visitation for the public beginning at 9:30am on Thursday August 4, 2022, at Cedar Memorial 4200 1st Ave NE Cedar Rapids.
