Memorial

Gregory Richard Waite, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at St Luke’s Hospital.  Services will be held Monday, January 31, 2022, 10:00am, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.   Visitation: Sunday, January 30, 2022, 1-3pm at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom.  Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Legion Hall 207 Robins Road, Hiawatha.

Survivors include; daughter Tessa (Ashley) Berry, of Marion along with an honorary daughter, Nicole Sniegowski, of Alburnett. Grandchildren; Derek Waite, Abigale Bass, Mason Garland, Aiden Berry, Adelynn Berry, and Allen Knapp. Sisters; Marsha (Sonny) Crow of Marion, and Gloria (Henry) Hutto of Mobile, Alabama.  

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life, Kathie Waite, daughter, Leminda Waite, and a brother, Michael Waite.  

Gregory Waite was born September 12, 1953, in Cedar Rapids to Richard and Ruth Waite.  He was united in marriage to Kathie on December 20, 1974.  Greg worked for Bernet Concrete for over 30 years. Greg enjoyed gardening, canning, home improvement projects, working on small engines and capturing photos of his family. Greg was a wonderful dad, devoted grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
