I will miss Marion, a fellow docent at CRMA. I always enjoyed working with her and appreciated her honesty and the directness with which she shared her views. My condolences to her family and to all those who valued her presence in their lives.

Marion Jacobs was the nicest woman and the most gentle soul! She was a beautiful woman in so many ways! I was privileged to have known her and Dr. Jacobs who was a friend and colleague. They were a great couple. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Dear Jacobs family:
Marion was one of the most beautiful souls I have ever known. We spoke often after mass at St. Matthew's. She was a dear friend of my mother, Bernardine Nefzger, from their younger days in Dubuque and Bellevue. It was my privilege to teach some of her grandchildren and to call her friend. How appropriate another angel gets its wings this Christmas season.

Our Aunt Marion / Your Mom was a truly special person that we are all so lucky to have had in our lives. We all wish we had the right words to say, they are hard to find - just know we care.
The family grows with marriages and births and we have the best angels watching over us all. Your Mom offered many great examples of the importance of faith and family. May we all honor her and carry out these lessons as best we can. Hugs galore as you all process your Mom’s passing. We will never forget your Mom’s welcoming presence.
I treasure memories of running to antique shops looking for special items and just pausing to notice beautiful fall foliage with your Mom between shops in New England. Her stories about the many treasured items in her house revealed her care for so many people. Aunt Marion is loved and will be missed!

Your mom was full of a calm joy that made everyone she spoke with, feel at ease. We will miss her and think of all of you in our prayers. Her nurturing of the arts and sharing of her talents and knowledge with those around her spoke of her sensitivity and generosity, she is loved!

Marion (aka Sugar) was one of the sweetest ladies I've had the honor to meet. I enjoyed visiting with her at great-grandchildren's and grandchildren events, ever since Matt and Emily were married and I got to know her. Truly a God-loving, spiritual, inspiration which I admired and appreciated.
May she rest in peace now and peace be with all of the family.

To all the Jacobs, happy for the option to attend your beautiful service remotely.
Enjoyed being with your mom, from my childhood (her flower girl) through last week, watching her resolutely let go of her ultimate creation. Loving, fun, talented. As was your dad, jake. Marion referred to and included him frequently after his passing. (We celebrated their anniversary and/or his birthday at the Irish Democrat.) They were profoundly together. I like believing they will continue.

To all of Marion’s family, please accept my deepest sympathy. Marion was a very special person and I’m proud to say we were cousins. She and my mom Corine Pavich (Kregel) were first cousins and playmates as young girls. They were only a month apart. They grew up together in Guttenberg and stayed close all these years. My mom will miss very much her phone calls with Marion. My wife Angie and I, and our extended Arizona family, enjoyed Marion’s visits out to Phoenix. And I thoroughly enjoyed visiting her in Cedar Rapids along with my cousin Jim in June 2021. Marion went up and down the stairs of her house like they were nothing. Her artwork was amazing. I was especially touched by the sculpture she made of our great grandmother who fell, and her husband caring for her. It was so poignant. I will certainly miss her. Wishing you all blessings and peace.
