Dear Carolyn and family - I have been working at Arbor so have not seen you or John for awhile . I am saddened to learn of his passing. I have fond memories of John and his extraordinary volleyball skills! He will be greatly missed by his MethWick family. May God bless you all and grant you many wonderful memories until you are together again in His Kingdom! My sincere sympathy - Rhonda

So sorry to see that John passed away. He was a very good friend as we grew up together on Lake avenue and may street and shared our fall birthdays. I remember so well that we shared an asthma condition and was always amazed that he managed to play on the WHS football team--I just couldn't cope with it. And then he served in the military--He was a fighter but one of the most gentile people I've ever known. My condolences to Carolyn and the family and Connie and Judy as well. Dick and Judy Rickbeil

Mr. Schmidt was my early bird science teacher at Wash in 1994-95. I remember his left-handed writing on the projector would pause every now and then - either he was letting us catch up with notes, or he was as sleepy as we were at that hour. He was a kind and gentle teacher and i remember him fondly.

Dear Carolyn, Connie & families, So sorry to hear about John. His parents & mine were such good friends & fellow Presbyterians. (Dick Rickbeil, Hardy & Bethel were family friends, too, but were Methodists!) Carolyn & I were flute players. Growing up in Worthington was such fun. May your memories comfort you now. Blessings, Bob & Gretchen Tjossem

Dear Carolyn and Stephanie and family. Sorry for your loss. John was a wonderful person and made a positive difference During his teaching days. He was always a wonderful neighbor. RIP.

Mr. Schmidt was my 7th grade math and 9th grade science teacher at Roosevelt. Some of us were quite ornery, but Mr. Schmidt was kind and incredibly patient. I am sorry for your loss.

Carolyn, I often played bridge against John at the duplicate clubs. He was a good competitor and a pleasant person. Sometimes I brought him home to Methwick. We will miss him. My condolences to you and your family. Bob

Dear Carolyn. Stephanie, and family, I am very sorry for your loss. John had so many interests and did so many things to help people. He was a special man. I know you will miss him but you have good memories of him. ( I planned to send you a card but couldn't fine your address in the phone book.} I will send a check in John's memory to Camp Courageous.

Dear Carolyn and family, I have many fond memories of sharing time with you and John over the last couple of decades--watching plays together at Spring Green, exploring small Wisconsin towns, eating together at local restaurants or in your home. John was such a good man, always game for checking out new things, even in his later years when it became more physically difficult for him to be out and about. It's been a pleasure and privilege to know him. Jane Rohrer
