Memorial

Fred Cornelius Patten, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.  Graveside services will be held Monday, January 18, 2021, 12:00 pm at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be 1 hour prior at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.  

Survivors include: niece Rae (Max) Diers, and two great nephews, Jesse(Holly) Diers, and Jarod(Stephanie) Diers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Patten, and his parents.  

Fred Cornelius Patten was born May 01, 1927 to Fred and Doris Patten in Cedar Rapids.  Fred grew up in Cedar Rapids, and graduated from Franklin High School.   Fred met and later married the love of life, Alice(Bates)Patten, on August 28, 1969 in Agency, Iowa.   Fred worked as a salesman for Sunbeam Bakery for over 36 years.  He enjoyed going to Tama for bingo games with Alice, loved bowling, and spending time with family.
