Paul John Mangano, 79, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Sunday October 25, 2020 in Willow Gardens Care Center. A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.  Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his son, Thomas (Devoni) Mangano of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, step-son, Rob (Dawn) Schorg of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, his sister Rosie (Bill) Busi of Aurora, Colorado, and close friend, Scott Carney. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ashley Mangano, Island Mangano, Jakob Tharp, Madi Maciel, Brock Mangano, Niko Mangano, Brittany Schorg, and Trevor Schorg, and great grandchildren, Michael Holt III and LaSalle Holt. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill Mangano, wife Betty Jean Schorg-Mangano and his son, Paul Mangano.

Paul was born January 12, 1941 in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Paul and Rossetta (Baldwin) Mangano. He married Betty Jean Mouchka on January 6, 1996 in Newton, Iowa. He served in the United States Air Force. Paul was a machinist for Langer Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids.  He owned and operated P.J. Tackle, which was an extension of his love for fishing, and was loved by his customers.  He loved watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Cubs. He will be remembered as a loving and caring brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
