Aunt Kate has always held a special place in my heart. Her hugs conveyed warmth and the deepest love. She made the best stockings and quilts that will continue to last generations. She brought light and joy into my life and into the lives of so many others. I'm heartbroken to know she is gone but I also know she is up in heaven with my Grandma (her sister), her husband, siblings gone before, son, and loved ones celebrating her arrival. We will miss you Kate.

My mother was an amazing woman. She was a joy to know. While in high school, I wanted a pricey prom dress. I had picked one out of the Sears catalogue. It was a beautiful aqua silky material with small pearls smocked on the front of it. Mom took a look at it and she said I can make that for a lot less..... And she did. I had a gorgeous prom dress and my dear mother stayed up so late to smock it with tiny seed pearls. One Halloween weekend I came home on Friday night and said, “Mom, I need a costume for Saturday night for a party.” Even though my mother had worked extremely hard during the week in a factory plus doing the farm work she set down to her sewing machine and made me a Shirley Temple lollipop costume. She was so resourceful. Mom‘s greatest gift to me was giving me life. She and dad had been in a terrible car accident and my mother refused ether so the doctors sewed up her face and set her jaw without any pain medication. I was born a few months later. She had faith that I had survived the car crash. What a wonderful gift-life with her & my family!

Our hearts and prayers go out to family. I enjoyed visiting Cousin Kathleen at our Wells' reunions and Aunt Ada and Uncle Ernie's house many years ago.
God bless you all.
