Memorial

Robert A. Magee, 96, of Marion died Friday October 30, 2015 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Per Bob’s request there will be no service. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his daughter Margo (Bill) Magee Swim; two grandchildren Heather (Jamie) Anderson of Denver, Colorado and Michael (Vianey Medina) Swim of Iowa City and a great grandson Jackson Magee Anderson. He was preceded in death by a son Craig, and two sisters Frances and Elizabeth.

Bob was born on July 7, 1919 in Cedar Rapids the son of George and Emma Bingham Magee. He worked as a security guard at Rockwell-Collins and retired from there after more than 30 years of service.

Bob was a member of V.F.W. Post 788, Marion American Legion Post 298, and proudly served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Memorial donations may be given to the American Legion, any veteran’s organization or to the Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha.
