Memorial

Joyce J. Stolte, 83, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday February 11, 2015.  Services: Private. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Surviving is her daughter, Diana (Milo) Nelson of Garden City, Iowa, a son-in-law, Alvern (Carolyn) Tysdahl of Hubbard, Iowa, her grandchildren; Cory Nelson of Garden City, Iowa, Stacie (Tarek) Hamid of Mamaroneck, New Yory, Chad (Kate) Tysdahl of Kansas City, Missouri, Troy (Carrie) Tysdahl of Nasuha, Iowa, Blake Tysdahl of Omaha, Nebraska, Grant (Dottie) Tysdahl of Kansas City, Missouri and  her great grandchildren; Layla, Zakariah, Isabelle, Sophie, Tate and Drake.  Also surviving is a niece, Stephanie ( Dr. Steve) Ellestad of Altoona, Iowa and their children, Stephen (Kianna) Ellestad of Westminster, Colorado and their daughter Kia Ellestad and Sarah Ellestad of Altoona, Iowa, her nephews, Robin Wittke of Texas, Charles ( Darcee)  Wittke of Minnesota, David (Suzzane Ivester) Wittke of Van Horne, Iowa.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard L. Stolte and a daughter, Cynthia Tysdahl.  

Joyce was born September 14, 1931 in Kirksville, Mo, the daughter of Winnie and Delta (Shipp) Vinton. She married Richard L. Stolte on June 25, 1949 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Joyce retired 1994 from working for many years at Drug Town and Von Maur.  She loved caring and spending time with her family and enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her close friends and planting her flowers around the house outside and yard area.
