VAULTS

A vault is the outer burial container that houses the casket. It serves two important functions: 1) it helps protect the casket from the elements and 2) it maintains the integrity of the grave so as not to allow a cave-in. They are typically made of steel reinforced concrete and coated with an asphalt coating. The interior is typically lined with different grades of plastics or fiberglass.
